The Ashtapadi is a work by Jayadeva, a great devotee of Krishna.Bhakta Kavi Jayadeva Goswami, was a renowned Sanskrit poet during the 12th century. He is most known for his epic composition Gita Govinda which vividly describes Shri Krishna’s love for Gopikas in general and for Radha in particular.

Radha was pining to have union with Lord Krsihna. SHe was ruminating about him after her tiff with him. Then her Sakhi, friend says, “Oh Radha, while the pleasant breeze of spring is blowing, and Krishna is on his way to see you, Why are you so sad? Don't be angry with Him, enjoy the moment.
